TALK Text and Learn for Kindergarten

WHAT IS TALK?

TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten is an early literacy text messaging service that sends developmentally appropriate texts to parents and caregivers with children 5 and under. The texts suggest activities you can do at home and features library events and services to help prepare your little one for school success.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Sign up at textandlearn.org OR text TALK to 75547

  • Enter your Zip Code (or a Zip Code within Johnson County if you are a patron but live outside the county) to select JCPL as your library:
    46106, 46124, 46131, 46142, 46143, 46160, 46162, 46164, 46181, 46184, 46259

  • Text CONFIRM to begin receiving the messages

  • Messages are sent twice a week

  • Choose to receive them morning or evening

  • Each phone number can register two children’s birthdays

  • If you need to add a child, text ADDCHILD to 75547

  • Text UPDATELANG to change your language preference

  • Text NOIMAGE to 75547 to opt out of receiving MMS messages (images)

  • If you are no longer interested in receiving TALK messages, text STOP to 75547
