An Indiana Legal Help Kiosk is now available at our Franklin Branch. Indiana Legal Help kiosks provide a way for Hoosiers to easily access IndianaLegalHelp.org, an Indiana Bar Foundation program connecting Hoosiers to legal resources and services. Through the kiosk, you can connect with legal aid organizations, find free housing-focused legal clinics and access housing legal information and forms. The ADA-accessible kiosk has a printer and scanner.
The Indiana Legal Help Kiosk will be available to the public during regular Franklin Branch hours.
The Kiosk allows a user to:
- Look up information about the eviction process, how to apply for housing or utility assistance, eviction sealing and more.
- Look up legal information, videos, and referrals.
- Locate a FREE legal clinic convenient to their location/availability.
- Find a legal assistance provider that may provide FREE legal services.
- Complete an Emergency Rental Assistance application through Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority or IndyRent, when available.
- Complete and print a self-service legal form.
- Scan a document into an embedded application on the site (i.e., lease for housing assistance application).
- The kiosk does not provide legal advice. Only attorneys may provide legal advice.
- The kiosk does not allow web surfing or access to any websites not approved for this project.
- The Kiosk does not allow a user to access email. To take a form home, we recommend the kiosk user print the form and instructions.
- The kiosk does not resolve legal issues. It aims to bridge the digital divide and provide additional self-help resources.
In addition, the Foundation and seven statewide partners are collaborating to offer a network of legal services, including brief advice legal clinics, legal aid attorneys, and non-attorney legal navigators to support Hoosiers facing eviction. The partners include:
