Job Title: Branch Manager -- Franklin Branch

Job Requirements:

The Johnson County Public Library has an outstanding opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to focus on connecting the Franklin Library to the community by overseeing the development of innovative and community-focused services and programs to ensure every customer has a positive experience. The Manager provides leadership for their branch and serves as direct supervisor of Children’s Services. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the selected candidate will ensure proper management of the day-to-day operations, including scheduling for proper coverage and management of work activities for employees. The successful candidate will evaluate branch programs and services; supervise outreach; train, supervise, assign and evaluate the work of staff; and provide orientation & training for new employees. They will work in coordination with Collection Services to maintain the relevancy, balance and freshness of the collection; attend and contribute to leadership meetings; chair and serve on committees; and provide reference desk coverage as needed.  

Qualifications include an ALA/MLS, three years of library managerial experience, and a minimum of two years working directly with children. The selected candidate will deploy excellent judgment in interpreting library policy and the ability to deliver responsive and effective internal & external customer service while solving problems & proactively creating sustainable solutions to issues. 

Job Benefits:

This is an exempt position requiring 40-45 hours per week with a starting salary of $65,000 per year, with an excellent employee benefit package including paid vacation, sick and personal leave. The selected individual must be available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.
